What the Heck is Bum Marketing?

One of the most often posed questions on the internet, is whether or not you can make a decent income from internet marketing. With Bum Marketing many people have already proved the answer is yes! And a great thing is that is happens to be one of the rare occasions where you can earn a decent income without having a website, or even en email list.
How is it possible to actually be making money online without a website to advertise products or services? It is actually very simple – become affiliated with other marketer’s websites.
It works like this: you write articles on a certain untargeted niche topic that has a good marketing potential and submit them to popular article directories.
These websites allow you to place an author resource box or signature at the end of each article where you can include an affiliate link to a product you are promoting.Then you just wait for the search engines pick them up and watch the affiliate commissions enter your bank account.
Here’s the step-by-step overview of the process:
1. Find a niche
Before you can do anything else, you need to find a niche to write articles about. For help on niche selection, check out the blog post titled “How To Find a Niche.”
2. Select the product(s) to promote
The next thing to do for your Bum Marketing campaign is select a product to promote. You can do this by joining several affiliate websites, or if you already have a related product of your own, you can promote that. 3. Search for keywords
Once you have your product, you will have to search for the most effective keywords to target. This comes easily, as there are many tools available on the internet to assist you in picking the best keywords for your product. You need to find keywords or phrases that are frequently requested, but still returning few enough results to make it worthwhile – but you do not want to enter a highly saturated niche market.
4. Research your topics
The next step in bum marketing is research. Once again, you will find many helpful online tools. The can include online dictionaries, encyclopedias, and websites about your product. You can also research other articles to get the information needed. However, be very careful not to plagiarize, as this can be very easily tracked down.
Using your own knowledge will be helpful too, particularly if you have experience with the topic you are writing about. Be sure to include your keywords in the title.
5. Writing the articles
The next thing to do is the actual writing of your articles. To create profits in Bum Marketing, the idea is to go for quantity over quality. So while you want to produce good, readable and useful articles, do not strive for perfection. It is far more profitable to have many good articles than a few outstanding ones.
The key to a successful Bum Marketing Campaign is the effectiveness of your bio box, or signature. Take great care in writing this as it is the only place you can link to your website, or promote a product. On some article directories you cannot use affiliate links, so you need a presell page to link to, such as a blog.
6. Submit your articles to popular article directories
The more websites you submit your articles to, the more advertising you will get. Theoretically, your article will partially inherit the search engine ranking of the article websites it’s posted on, which will give it a good start and greatly enhance the chance of its being listed on the first page of Google and other search engines. This is one of the many reasons to post your articles to the most popular directories before adding it to lesser-known and/or lower page rank sites.
7. Earn affiliate commissions
Once you have followed these steps well, you will begin earning money online from the commissions of the affiliate products you promote, and find increased sales of your own products.
This should help you get you started with your Bum Marketing Efforts. The great part about this method of making money is that people will keep reading your articles and buying the products long after you’ve written the articles.

This “Bum Marketing” is exactly what I’ve been experimenting with myself, but I never knew it had such a fancy name! LOL
